This weekend a few friends and I went to Root 44 Market in Stellenbosch. I really love this market, we’ve been there a few times and it’s always so much fun. If you’ve never been it is a must do!
The market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm during summer and winter. There are various Traders that sell everything from clothes to jewelry to furniture. There is also a big food market tent with the most amazing food and drinks!! There is definitely something to eat and drink for everyone. There is also a bar available if you want to have a few beers or some wine. There’s even entertainment for the kids, they have an entire kiddies play section at Root 44 so the market is perfect for the entire family. You can sit in the sun or shade as there are so many tables available and there is the most beautiful view if the vineyards. They also have live music some weekends and you can even book out a table if you want to host a birthday or other event there.
We went at about 12pm the afternoon and we stayed there until the market closed. It was so much fun, drinking wine and catching up. Earlier this week I bought myself a Fujifilm Instax mini 8 camera and thought it would be perfect to test it out at Root 44. It takes the most amazing Polaroid style photos and the camera itself is super cute, but it is quite big. If you are interested in buying this camera you can buy the camera and film online from Superbalist, they offer free and fast delivery and they offer the best price for the camera.
We had such an amazing and relaxing day at Root 44 , it is definitely a must do, if you’re in the Cape Town area and want to do something over the weekend. The market is also the perfect place to go and look for a special gift for someone. The food and drinks are amazing and with great company you’ll surely have a blast!! We definitely did!!
